Kaveri University is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and student-centric academic environment. To ensure that students’ concerns and grievances are addressed in a fair, transparent, and timely manner, the university has established a Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) and appointed an Ombudsperson, in accordance with the provisions of the University Grants Commission (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023.

Constitution of the Committee
The SGRC is constituted at the university level and comprises:
Chairperson: Dr. R. Jagadeshwar
Faculty Representatives: Dr. A. Pratap Kumar Reddy and Dr. K. Srinivas
Student Representative: M. Bhargavi
Member Secretary: Dr. P. Harsha, Director of Students Welfare
Functions of the SGRC
Receive and examine written complaints submitted by students
Investigate grievances related to admission, academics, examinations, unfair practices, harassment, or denial of services
Hear both parties and provide resolution within 15 working days of receipt of grievance
Refer unresolved cases to the Ombudsperson, if required
Modes of Complaint Submission
Physical submission of grievance forms at designated help desks or administrative offices
Digital grievance submission through the university’s online grievance portal or email

Appointment
An independent Ombudsperson (Dr. R. Jagadeshwar) is appointed by the university from among senior academicians with integrity and experience, as per UGC guidelines.
Role and Responsibilities
Review and resolve grievances referred by the SGRC or directly submitted by aggrieved students
Ensure impartiality, confidentiality, and adherence to principles of natural justice
Submit quarterly and annual reports to the university and the UGC
Provide recommendations to strengthen grievance redressal mechanisms
Powers of the Ombudsperson
Summon individuals, call for documents, and conduct inquiries
Direct appropriate remedial action by university authorities
Impose penalties for non-compliance with decisions, as permitted by regulations

Admission irregularities or unfair denial
Delays in academic or administrative processes
Harassment or discrimination (gender, caste, religion, etc.)
Non-payment or delays in scholarships or stipends
Academic evaluation disputes
Violation of university rules or student rights
