In compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, and the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015, Kaveri University has established an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students, faculty, and staff. The ICC is committed to the prevention and redressal of complaints related to sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination, promoting a campus culture based on dignity, equality, and mutual respect.
The Internal Complaints Committee at Kaveri University serves as a cornerstone of the institution’s commitment to gender justice, human dignity, and inclusive education. Through proactive measures and responsive mechanisms, the ICC plays a vital role in upholding a respectful and secure campus for all.
Objectives
To prevent, prohibit, and address incidents of sexual harassment at the university
To uphold the rights of individuals to work and study in an environment free from gender-based harassment
To create awareness and sensitization on gender equity and respectful conduct
To ensure prompt, impartial, and confidential handling of complaints
Composition of the ICC
As per statutory norms, the ICC at Kaveri University comprises:

Functions of the ICC
Complaint Handling
Receive and examine complaints related to sexual harassment
Conduct fair, impartial, and timely inquiries following due process
Recommend disciplinary action or remedial measures to the university authorities
Awareness and Sensitization
Organize gender sensitization workshops, training programs, and interactive sessions
Disseminate information on rights, responsibilities, and procedures related to sexual harassment
Display posters and resource materials across the campus for visibility
Policy Implementation
Advise the university on policies and procedures related to gender equity and workplace ethics
Monitor adherence to UGC and statutory guidelines
Submit annual reports to the Vice Chancellor and UGC on complaints received and actions taken
Redressal Process
Any aggrieved woman (student, faculty, or staff) may file a written complaint to the ICC within three months of the incident
The ICC conducts a confidential and impartial inquiry, following principles of natural justice
The inquiry must be completed within 90 days, and recommendations implemented within 30 days
Both complainant and respondent have the right to be heard and to present evidence

The ICC operates independently and with complete confidentiality, ensuring that all individuals feel empowered to report grievances without fear of victimization.

(Establishment & Regulation) Act, 2018 under section 3.
