The Anti-Ragging Cell of Kaveri University is a statutory body constituted in accordance with the regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, aimed at ensuring a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus environment. The university has adopted a Zero-Tolerance Policy towards any form of ragging, and is committed to preventing and addressing such misconduct through preventive, educative, and disciplinary measures.
Objective
To create and maintain a ragging-free campus where students can pursue their academic and personal development without fear, intimidation, or harassment.
Scope and Functions
Ensure compliance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009
Display Anti-ragging Guidelines, Contact information of committee members, and Helpline numbers across the campus and on the University website
Conduct awareness programs, workshops, and induction sessions for students and faculty
Receive and address complaints related to ragging through a confidential and responsive mechanism
Monitor student interactions, particularly during the initial semester, to detect and deter potential instances of ragging
Take immediate disciplinary action against individuals or groups found guilty of ragging, in accordance with university regulations and UGC guidelines

An Anti-Ragging Squad, functioning under the Committee, conducts surprise checks and regular monitoring in academic, residential, and recreational areas.
The university also encourages students to use the UGC Anti-Ragging Helpline (1800-180-5522) and antiragging.infor affidavit submission and complaints.
Penalties for Ragging
As per UGC regulations, the following actions may be taken against students found guilty of ragging:
Suspension from classes and academic privileges
Debarring from university examinations and placement services
Expulsion from hostel and/or university
Cancellation of admission
Filing of FIR with appropriate legal authorities
