Knowledge Management Centre (KMC)

The main objective is to enhance the quality of Agricultural and Technical Education. KMC has fostered a conducive learning environment and, with its excellent IT infrastructure, has established distinct academic support facilities. The library features a centrally air-conditioned reading hall, offering a congenial space for students and staff to engage in meaningful academic pursuits.
In addition to its ambient setting, the library houses a rich collection of printed books, national and international journals, newspapers, and magazines. It also provides access to a wide range of e-books and e-journals through platforms such as J-Gate, ensuring seamless access to scholarly content across disciplines.

Meet: Dr. B. Dhanalakshmi

Librarian

Dr. B. Dhanalakshmi is an accomplished library and information science professional with over 28 years of distinguished experience in academic librarianship. Holding qualifications including B.Sc., M.L.I.Sc., PGDLAN, M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D., she has consistently contributed to the advancement of library services through academic excellence, technological innovation, and user-centric knowledge management.

Prior to joining Kaveri University, she served as Deputy Librarian at KL Deemed to be University and held librarian positions at several reputed engineering institutions. Throughout her career, she has played a pivotal role in transforming conventional libraries into vibrant knowledge and learning resource centres that support teaching, research, innovation, and lifelong learning.

A strong advocate of digital transformation in libraries, Dr. Dhanalakshmi possesses extensive expertise in integrated library management systems such as LIBSYS, Koha, and DSpace. Her innovative contributions include patents related to IoT-enabled library management systems and AI-based resource recommendation technologies, reflecting her commitment to harnessing emerging technologies to enhance information access and user experience.

An active researcher and academic leader, she has published extensively in national and international journals, presented papers at numerous conferences, and served as an editor, reviewer, and resource person for professional development programmes. She is a life member of prestigious professional bodies, including the Indian Library Association (ILA), Society for Library Professionals (SLA), and Andhra Pradesh Library Association (APLA), and continues to contribute actively to the growth of the library and information science profession.

Dr. Dhanalakshmi believes that a modern library is not merely a repository of books but a dynamic knowledge ecosystem that fosters curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. Fluent in English and Telugu, and with additional certification in the Japanese language, she brings a global outlook and a collaborative spirit to academic librarianship. Her unwavering dedication to excellence, innovation, and service continues to enrich the academic community and strengthen the culture of learning and research at Kaveri University.

Mission

The primary objective is to develop the KMC Library into a highly effective Knowledge Management Centre that contributes significantly to the quality of higher education in Agricultural Sciences and Engineering and Technology. To enhance the learning environment, the library has established an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) search area and subscribed to the J-Gate service for global access to e-journals. It also features a dedicated laptop zone equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity

Membership

Membership is open to the following categories:

  • Members of the Board of Management,Academic council and such other persons as may be designated honorary members by the managament/Vice-Chancellor.
  • Members of the various facilities (Teaching, Reseach and Extension ) in the Kaveri University.
  • University staff.
  • Students of Kaveri University.
  • Such other persons as may be permitted by the Librarian.

Internet Facility

  • Internet facility is secured and the access is available only for the regular members of university only.
  • Corporate members and other visiting scholars cannot access internet and e-resources because they will not be provided Internet ID/Password.
  • Users are advised to make use of this facility only to support their academic and research activities.
  • Users should not use USB devices / pen drives for data transfer to avoid the entry of computer virus,such file/data transfer cand be done as e-mail attachements.
  • It is our collective responsibility, as far as the safety of the systems is concerned. Please bring to the notice of the Librarian for any misuse of the systems.
  • Librarian reserves the right to stop extending this facility to a person found misusing, apart from initiating action as per the rules by the University.

OPAC - Online Public Access Catalogue & Search Services

  • Information regarding the library holdings and the format (print, CD/DVDs, ONLINE) – books, journals & back issues, thesis/dissertation/project reports, and other informational material such as online databases, e-resources (e-books/e-journals) can be searched through OPAC.
  • Indicates the status of books – available, on issue, not for circulation, damaged, etc.
  • Links to the full text of digital documents (free of copyright/permitted), wherever available.

Library enrolled users can view their account in OPAC

Library has e-journals, e-books reference works & series full text databases,search/citation databases,statistical databases and tools etc.

Kaveri University was established as per the Telangana Private Universities (Establishment & Regulation) Act, 2018 under section 3.
