Programme Structure

The B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) is a four-year program divided into eight semesters, comprising a total of 163 credits. The curriculum includes a balanced mix of core courses, electives, laboratory work, and project-based learning, designed to progressively build students’ technical knowledge and practical skills.

Semester-wise Curriculum Overview

Semesters 1 & 2: Foundation Category: Focuses on building a strong foundation in Mathematics, Basic Sciences, and Computer Science fundamentals. Students are introduced to programming, problem-solving techniques, and basic computing concepts. The curriculum also includes engineering graphics and communication skills to enhance visualization, teamwork, and professional interaction.

Semesters 3 & 4: Core Engineering Fundamentals: Focuses on developing core competencies in computer science. Students learn data structures, object-oriented programming, operating systems, and database management systems. The curriculum also introduces computer networks and basic security concepts, enabling understanding of system architecture and data communication.

Semesters 5 & 6: Cyber Security Core & Applications: Focuses on advanced cybersecurity concepts including cryptography, ethical hacking, network security, and web application security. Students gain hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and security analysis. The curriculum also includes digital forensics, cloud security, and secure coding practices. Practical exposure is provided through internships, mini-projects, and skill development activities.

Semesters 7 & 8: Advanced & Specialization Category: Focuses on advanced topics such as cyber threat intelligence, malware analysis, blockchain security, and advanced network defense techniques. Students explore emerging technologies through professional electives and gain industry exposure through internships and training. The programme culminates in a capstone project, enabling students to design secure systems and solve real-world cybersecurity challenges.

The program adopts an outcome-based education (OBE) model with flexibility under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and supports credit accumulation through the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) framework.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Tech. programs must have successfully completed their 10+2 / Intermediate or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry (or relevant subjects), securing a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
