Dr. Yalaka Nandini is a dedicated agricultural engineer and academic with over five years of experience spanning teaching, farm mechanization research, and field engineering practice. As Assistant Professor and Head in the Department of Agricultural Engineering at Kaveri University, she plays a key role in shaping the next generation of agricultural engineers, teaching agricultural engineering subjects such as Farm Machinery and Power, and contributing to the Farm Machinery Skill Training Centre. Her prior experience at AP Agros, PJTAU, and JNKVV grounds her teaching in real-world mechanization practice.
A hands-on educator and emerging researcher, Dr. Nandini’s work centers on advanced farm mechanization and automation, with particular focus on UAV-based crop monitoring, IoT-based irrigation and fertigation systems, and other advanced learning applications in agriculture. She has authored peer-reviewed papers and holds patents on farm power and machinery operations. She actively supports Kaveri University’s Digital Farming Solutions facility, contributes to institutional documentation on precision-agriculture tools, and mentors students through NPTEL/Swayam course guidance, serving as coordinator for remote-sensing training opportunities with IIRS-ISRO. Committed to continuous learning, she has recently strengthened her technical skill set through professional development in Python and precision instrumentation, reflecting her ongoing dedication to advancing agricultural engineering education and research at Kaveri University. Dr. Nandini’s academic and professional excellence has been recognized through several distinctions. She achieved a Gold Medal and Merit, securing first place for the best overall grade point average in her Master’s degree. She was also conferred the Young Professional Award in the field of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, presented at the 1st International Conference on Global Initiatives in Research, Innovation and Sustainable Development of Agriculture and Allied Sciences.
