GALA 2025 inaugurates the first traditional event of Kaveri University, which will subsequently be celebrated as the University’s Annual Traditional Fest. It was celebrated with great enthusiasm and cultural fervor on September 26, 2025, at Kaveri University. The event was dedicated to showcasing the rich heritage of Telangana State, with a special focus on the Bathukamma festival.
The primary aim of this celebration was to uphold our cultural values, bring together a diverse community, and strengthen the core element of unity that defines India. The event beautifully symbolized Prakriti (Nature) worship and women’s empowerment. It served as a vibrant platform for students and women to engage with and respect the essential connection we share as humans and our bond with Nature.
The occasion was graced by the presence of our esteemed Vice Chancellor, Dr. V. Praveen Rao, who inaugurated the event with an enlightening speech. He offered thoughtful reflections on the deep kinship between Nature and womanhood, recognizing their function as nurturing forces for all. He also emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage while embracing modern education.
The Vice Chancellor was joined by the University Officers, Deans, Faculty members, and non-teaching staff, all of whom participated in and rejoiced at the moment.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across both schools at the University: the School of Agriculture and the School of Agricultural Engineering and Technology.
To ensure smooth coordination and successful execution, the students formed various committees totaling 27 members. This included the main Organizing Committee, which was further subdivided into the Discipline, Food, Morning Bathukamma, and other supporting committees.
The festivities started with a Bathukamma Making Competition, where students creatively and skillfully showcased their cultural spirit by decorating the Bathukamma with flowers and leaves.
This was followed by a variety of cultural performances, including traditional songs and dances that filled the ambiance with color and energy.
The event received overwhelmingly positive feedback from students, faculty, and guests. Participants appreciated the opportunity to engage in traditional celebrations, express their creativity, and enjoy cultural performances that fostered community. Many students noted that the event significantly enhanced their understanding of cultural heritage and instilled a deeper sense of unity and pride.
We extend a heartfelt thanks to the Vice Chancellor, Dr. V. Praveen Rao, for gracing the event and motivating the students. Special gratitude goes to all committee members and the entire Kaveri University fraternity for making this event a successful and memorable celebration.
GALA 2025 was a resounding success, marking the first traditional celebration ever conducted by the University. The festivities of Bathukamma effectively channeled a sense of unity, creativity, and enthusiasm among the students. The support of the faculty and the meticulous coordination of the various committees ensured the seamless conduction of the entire program. Hon’ble Governor of Telangana Lauds Kaveri University’s World-Class Vision and Infrastructure in Advancing Global Standards in Education and Research
Kaveri University had the distinct honor of hosting Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, on his official visit to the campus. The Hon’ble Governor was accorded a warm welcome by Chancellor Shri G.V. Bhaskar Rao, Vice-Chancellor Dr. V. Praveen Rao, and senior officials of the University.
During the visit, the Hon’ble Governor reviewed the University’s remarkable progress, academic achievements, and ongoing research and development initiatives. He visited state-of-the-art laboratories in Entomology, Pathology, Soil Science, Plant Breeding, and Plant Physiology, where he interacted with faculty members, scientists, and students.
The Governor also explored a special exhibition that showcased emerging Agri Tech innovations—including drones, robotics, 3D printing, and augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) models, as well as student-developed solutions for smart and sustainable agriculture.
Expressing deep appreciation, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma remarked that Kaveri University embodies the spirit and standards of a world-class institution, observing that such visionary infrastructure and innovation-driven education are rarely seen even in public universities. He emphasized that institutions like Kaveri University will play a pivotal role in shaping India’s global leadership in education, research, and innovation.
Encouraging students to be agents of change, the Hon’ble Governor urged them to leverage their knowledge and creativity to enhance agricultural productivity, sustainability, and rural prosperity.

This report details the successful execution of the free Investor Awareness Programs (IAPs) held at Kaveri University on October 27 and 28, 2025. This significant initiative, supported by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), was conducted for students of the School of Agricultural Engineering and Technology. The programs were highly effective in enhancing financial literacy and promoting a culture of safe and informed investing among the participating students.

Kaveri University, Gowraram (Wargal, Siddipet, Telangana), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ICAR–Indian Institute of Millets Research (IIMR), Hyderabad, to strengthen academic and research collaboration in frontier areas of agricultural science, with a special focus on millets.

Kaveri University inaugurated the Deeksharambh Programme, a structured induction initiative for first-year B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture 2025-26 batch students, marking the beginning of their academic journey in India’s first Agri-Tech University.
The programme was formally launched in the presence of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. V. Praveen Rao, and senior university officials.
In his keynote address, Dr. Rao urged students to embrace the vast possibilities in modern agriculture and to prepare themselves not merely as job seekers but as future innovators, entrepreneurs, and job creators. Our Vice Chancellor, Dr. V. Praveen Rao had the privilege of representing Kaveri University and attending the Valedictory Programme of the 115ᵗʰ Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Service (FoCARS) at ICAR–NAARM, Hyderabad, as the Guest of Honour.
The programme brought together 107 young ARS scientists from 22 states and 35 disciplines, marking a significant milestone in shaping India’s next generation of agricultural research leaders.

The Turmeric Value Chain Summit 2025, held at The Park, Hyderabad, was a grand success, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, startups, and farmers to deliberate on a future-ready roadmap for turmeric aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047.
Dr. V. Praveen Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Kaveri University, attended the summit as Advisor, CII Telangana Agri & Food Processing Panel and presented the Context Paper, setting the tone for the deliberations. His presentation highlighted India’s strengths in the turmeric sector, emerging opportunities, and the critical role of innovation across the entire value chain—from production to processing, value addition, and exports.
The summit was graced by Shri Tummala Nageswara Rao, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture & Cooperation, Government of Telangana, along with the Principal Secretary (Agriculture), Chairman and Secretary of the National Turmeric Board, and eminent leaders from industry and academia.

Recently, we had the privilege of welcoming *Harminder Singh Sidhu*, Former Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology at Punjab Agricultural University, to Kaveri University and LK Singh, Associate Manager, ICRISAT
During their visit, Dr. Sidhu explored several of our facilities — laboratories, smart classrooms, Digital Farming unit, the Drone Academy, the Tractor Technology Centre, Integrated Research Centre, and our agricultural research fields. What followed were insightful conversations with faculty and academic leaders on the future of agricultural engineering, mechanization, and technology-enabled farming.
His reflections were encouraging.
