Dr. K. Subba Rama Sarma is an accomplished academician, researcher, and corporate trainer, having devoted more than twenty two years to the field of management education. His work reflects a distinctive blend of teaching excellence, research depth, and close engagement with industry.
He earned his Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management, with a doctoral thesis focused on supply chain practices within Hyderabad’s organized and unorganized grocery retail sectors — an area of study that continues to shape his teaching and research pursuits. He possesses specialised expertise across Operations, Marketing, and Human Resources, offering a broad and analytically grounded perspective across key management disciplines.
Across a 22-year academic career, Dr. Sarma has taught and guided postgraduate management students at various institutions. His teaching and research interests cover a wide spectrum — Supply Chain Analytics, Operations Management, Operations Research, HR & Organizational Behaviour, Marketing, Managerial Economics, Statistics, Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma, and Research Methodology — underscoring his dedication to building both analytical rigor and managerial acumen in his students.
He has played a key role in advancing his institution’s research environment, having organized multiple conferences, workshops, and Research Methodology-focused Faculty Development Programmes that have helped foster a thriving scholarly culture among faculty and researchers.
Outside the classroom, Dr. Sarma has actively contributed as a corporate trainer, leading programmes on Soft Skills and Personality Development, Agile Decision-Making, and Lean Quality Management.
He is actively engaged in weaving ancient Indian Vedic wisdom into his teaching, instilling ethical values and guiding principles among business management students.
Dr Sarma is the recipient of the Inspiring Teacher Award for Excellence in Management Education, conferred by the Teachers’ Academy, IAE, Hyderabad
An avid lifelong learner, Dr. Sarma has continually pursued opportunities for professional growth, completing certifications and Faculty Development Programmes backed by organizations such as AICTE’s ATAL Academy, UGC-HRDC, and RUSA, spanning topics including digital pedagogy, MOOC development, emotional resilience, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), and inclusive education.
