Dr. Sreenivas Mekala is an accomplished Computer Science and Engineering academician with more than 21 years of teaching experience. He is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Kaveri University, Hyderabad, and has previously served at Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology, Malla Reddy College of Engineering, Raja Mahendra College of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering, an M.Tech. CSE Specializing in Computer Vision and Image Processing and B.Tech. in Computer Science and Information Technology.
His academic and technical expertise spans Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Data Mining, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Database Management, Computer Networks, and related areas. He has qualified FET 2010,UGC-NET-13 and APSET-13 and has also achieved notable scores in GATE. He has completed NPTEL courses in Theory of Computation and Introduction to Machine Learning and has been recognized as a mentor for the Joy of Computing using Python course by IIT Madras.
Dr. Mekala has an extensive research profile, with more than 60 published research papers covering areas such as machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, natural language processing, medical image analysis, Blockchain, sentiment analysis, and computer vision. His publications include papers in Scopus, Web of Science, SCI, IEEE, and UGC-listed Journals. He has also contributed book chapters to international academic publications and has authored the book Introduction to Artificial Intelligence. In addition, he holds published patents related to AI, IoT, text detection, garbage monitoring and home surveillance.
Alongside teaching and research, Dr. Mekala has significant academic administration and leadership experience, including responsibilities as HOD in-charge, M.Tech. Coordinator, timetable in-charge, conference coordinator, and co-convener of technical and cultural events. He has organized conferences, international webinars, and faculty development programs, served as an academic administrative auditor, and guided numerous B.Tech. and M.Tech. student projects. His combination of teaching, research, leadership, technical expertise, and academic administration makes him a well-rounded professional in the field of Computer Science and Engineering.
