Dr. Rajkumar Pillay is a seasoned academician with more than 25 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic engagement across Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, and Operations. He holds a PhD in Business Management from Acharya Nagarjuna University, an MBA in Finance, and an M.Sc. in Mathematics. His academic interests span Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Business Statistics, Advanced Statistics, Operations Analytics, Supply Chain Analytics, and simulation-based models in operations. Over the course of his academic career, he has been associated with several reputed institutions, including Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, SRM University through TimesPro, United World School of Business, NALSAR, British Technical Education Council, DHRUVA, ICFAI, and the Institute of Public Enterprise.

His research interests include teaching pedagogy, analytics, supply chain management, and simulation. He has published extensively in national and international journals on themes such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, business analytics, business statistics, retailing, leadership, and pedagogy. His recent publications include work on computer vision for economic activity monitoring, AI-based virtual personal assistants, sentiment analysis using machine learning, supervised learning in task assignment systems, AI-based business success models for small and medium enterprises, peer teaching in higher education, and statistical teaching methodologies. Several of these publications are indexed in Scopus. His earlier research has also addressed service quality, rural entrepreneurship, servant leadership, probability teaching, and branding.

Dr. Pillay has also contributed to innovation and applied research. He is associated with a patent publication titled “The Effect of Internet Use on Students Academic Performance in India During Covid-19 Pandemic,” filed in 2022 in the field of Computer Science. His current research engagements include an ICSSR project examining the impact of the Digital Personal Data Protection Framework on national security and economic development in India, with a focus on selected South Indian states.

In addition to teaching and research, he has been actively involved in executive education and management development. He conducted a five-day residential programme on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Central Public Sector and State Level Public Enterprises, a Management Development Programme on Generative Artificial Intelligence for Strategic Decision Making, an MDP on Business Analytics for Decision Making, and an MDP on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Business Applications. His academic profile reflects a strong blend of quantitative methods, analytics, operations, emerging technologies, and management education, supported by extensive institutional experience and sustained contributions to research and executive learning.
