Dr. V P Madhurima

Dr. V.P. Madhurima is a dedicated academician and researcher in the field of Physics, with a specialized focus on carbon nanomaterials and photocatalysis possessing a solid background in materials science, spectroscopy, and surface characterization techniques built over years of rigorous research and teaching. She earned her Ph.D. in Physics from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal, in 2024, graduating with an outstanding CGPA of 9.5. Her doctoral thesis, titled “Design & Optimization of Graphitic Carbon Nitride Hybrid Nanostructures for Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity”, laid the groundwork for her continuing research into next-generation nanomaterials for environmental and energy applications. She also holds an M.Sc. in Physics from Osmania University (2016), where she graduated as the University First Rank holder, and a B.Sc. in Electronics Technology from Loyola Academy (2014), which she completed with distinction as the Best Outgoing Student in Academics. Before her doctoral studies, Dr. Madhurima served as a research fellow at the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI), Hyderabad, from 2017 to 2022. During this period, she conducted extensive work on the synthesis, characterization, and optimization of carbon-based nanostructures, with particular emphasis on the photocatalytic degradation of organic dyes and pollutant remediation.

Her research interests today span a wide spectrum of carbon nanomaterials, including carbon nanotubes, graphene, carbon onions, fullerenes, exfoliated graphite, and activated carbon for energy harvesting applications, as well as 2D materials for solar fuel generation, CO₂ reduction, and water splitting. Dr. Madhurima is proficient in a broad range of nanomaterial synthesis techniques, including arc discharge, chemical vapour deposition, hydrothermal synthesis, and exfoliation, and is well-versed in advanced characterization methods such as SEM, TEM, XRD, UV-Vis, Raman spectroscopy, TG DSC, Zetasizer, and photoluminescence (PL) analysis. She is also skilled in the use of Arduino-based instrumentation, electrochemical workstations, Origin software, and precision measurement tools such as Keithley and Tektronix systems. Her research contributions have been published in several reputed peer-reviewed journals, including Optical Materials, Polymers for Advanced Technologies, Diamond and Related Materials, and Chemistry Select, with additional manuscripts currently under review and submission.

A committed and enthusiastic educator, Dr. Madhurima has taught Applied Physics to undergraduate engineering students as an Assistant Professor at CMR Institute of Technology and earlier served as a Teaching Assistant at NIT Warangal, where she conducted Engineering Physics laboratory sessions and mentored students in experimental techniques. Her academic journey has been recognized through several honours, including the DST Inspire Fellowship (Provisional) in 2017 and the UGC PG Merit Scholarship for University Rank Holder in 2014. At Kaveri University, Dr. Madhurima continues to pursue her passion for advancing sustainable nanomaterial research, mainly focused on the energy and agriculture sectors, combining scientific rigour with a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Kaveri University was established as per the Telangana Private Universities (Establishment & Regulation) Act, 2018 under section 3.
