Shri G.V. Bhaskar Rao is a distinguished Indian industrialist, visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist, and institution builder, currently serving as the Founding Chancellor of Kaveri University. He is widely recognized as the driving force behind Kaveri Seed Company Limited, which he founded in 1976 and transformed into one of India’s leading AgriTech and plant science enterprises. With a strong academic foundation in Agricultural Sciences, he has dedicated his career to advancing agricultural productivity and empowering farming communities.
Guided by his vision of education as a catalyst for societal transformation, he established the GVBRV Trust and founded Kaveri University in Telangana. Under his leadership, the university has emerged as a multidisciplinary institution integrating agriculture, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He has been instrumental in promoting the adoption of advanced technologies such as AI, IoT, robotics, and precision agriculture, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industry needs.
Beyond his contributions to industry and education, Shri Bhaskar Rao has played a significant role in agricultural policy and institutional governance. He has served on the Board of Management of PJTSAU and contributed to national bodies such as NSAI and PPVFRA. Through his leadership, he continues to drive sustainable agricultural growth, innovation, and nation-building by strengthening the link between agribusiness, education, and rural development.
Kaveri University was established as per the Telangana Private Universities (Establishment & Regulation) Act, 2018 under section 3.
