The B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) is a four-year program divided into eight semesters, comprising a total of 163 credits. The curriculum includes a balanced mix of core courses, electives, laboratory work, and project-based learning, designed to progressively build students’ technical knowledge and practical skills.
Semesters 1 & 2: Foundation Category: Focus on providing a strong foundation in engineering through Mathematics and Basic Sciences, enabling analytical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for electronics and communication systems. Integrates fundamental concepts of electrical, electronics, and basic mechanical engineering to build core interdisciplinary knowledge. Students also develop programming skills for problem solving using structured and algorithmic approaches. Additionally, communication skills prepare students for effective technical interaction and professional collaboration in the field of electronics and communication engineering.
Semesters 3 & 4: Core Electronics Category: Focus to build core knowledge in electronic devices, analog and digital circuits, and logic design. It covers signals and systems for analyzing and processing information, along with network theory for understanding electrical circuits. Students also gain practical skills in circuit analysis and measurements, forming a strong foundation for advanced electronics and communication engineering.
Semesters 5 & 6: Communication & Embedded Systems Category: Focuses on advancements in the field of communication systems, embedded technologies, and modern electronic design. It covers analog and digital communication, microprocessors, microcontrollers, embedded systems, VLSI design, and digital signal processing. Students also explore IoT and wireless communication technologies, while gaining practical experience through mini projects, internships, and skill development activities for real-world applications.
Semesters 7 & 8: Advanced & Specialization Category: This component focuses on advanced communication technologies, including next-generation systems such as 5G/6G, along with system design and integration of complex electronic solutions. Students explore emerging areas through professional electives and gain hands-on industry exposure via internships and training. The programme culminates with a capstone project, enabling students to apply their knowledge to real-world communication and electronics challenges.
The program adopts an outcome-based education (OBE) model with flexibility under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and supports credit accumulation through the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) framework.
